Site design and development for Public Curricula, an online publication
About the Work
Public Curricula is an advocacy group concerned with the intersections of social justice, technology and technology’s audience. From international trade agreements to neighborhood protests, technology is integral to everyone’s life. But how we use it should not be taken for granted. PC approached us about an issue dear to their members’ hearts: openness, privacy concerns and big tech companies.
With Public Curricula team, we devised a comparison tool that allowed the user to compare take-down requests from governments across the world, and how Google responded in the various countries in which it operates. Importing data via Google’s open database files, we created a simple, visually strong tool that utilized predictive typing, infographic comparison and other visual cues to quickly communicate the problem without overwhelming the user.
