The Equity Project

In spring 2015, Social Ink created a web platform for the Equity Project, a nonprofit organization that examines how issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression affect youth as they move through the juvenile delinquency system. To overhaul …

Social Ink spearheaded the web design and development for the MacArthur Foundation’s major initiative working toward nationwide jail reform. Working alongside policy and research leaders at the Vera Institute of Justice, the website provides a staging platform for the grant-seeking competition, as well as issue-related resources, research and reports, and as an ongoing way to track progress by selected jurisdictions.

Two exciting new launches strengthen our relationship to New York City's diverse communities!

We’re delighted to announce two new launches of the last month, the progressive and activist journalism site Waging Nonviolence, and the fresh, exciting classical music guild Concert Artists Guild.

Waging Nonviolence’s exciting mission:

Waging Nonviolence is a source for original news and analysis about struggles for justice and peace around the globe. Ordinary people build power using nonviolent strategies and tactics every day, even under the most difficult of circumstances, yet these stories often go unnoticed or misunderstood by a media industry fixated on violence and celebrity.

Concert Artist Guild’s mission is also one of helping the community:

Founded in 1951 with a mission to discover, nurture & promote young musicians, Concert Artists Guild helps artists launch sustainable careers. CAG provides support to a roster of talented artists during a critical and formative time: between completion of formal studies and the achievement of an established career.

Computer Fraud and Abuse Defense Fund is Live

Important launch announcement: the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act Defense Fund is live and seeking donations to help fight against the current absurd internet and communications regulations governing American citizens. The recent trial of  United States v. Auernheimer (That’s Andrew Auernheimer, AKA WEEV), demonstrates the silliness of this law. Did you know that if you are reading this post on our website, and we didn’t explicitly give you permission, you are in violation of US law?

Help bring American law into the digital age. Donate today to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Defense Fund (and free Weev!)

A Campaign for NYC Children

In a new record for site deployment, Social Ink worked round the clock to develop and launch a website for the Campaign for Children NYC, a partnership of The Emergency Coalition to Save Child Care and the NYC Youth Alliance. The site is designed to complement and further the efforts of the campaign against Mayor Bloomberg’s recent cuts to child care and after-school programs. Read more about the project on our portfolio or head on over to the site.

Social Ink is proud to stand with the Campaign advocates working tirelessly to further the futures of our city’s youth.

When the phone rang, Social Ink answered.

A few weeks ago, we were asked to design and develop a site to fight the deregulation of internet phone service. Working on overdrive to meet a critical policy deadline, our team designed and developed the site in record time. Read about the project in our portfolio or visit the site to take action.

Social Ink stands with the Consumer Coalition for Affordable, Reliable Phone Service in its fight against the cable industry and its corporate lobbyists — we hope you’ll join us.
