About the Work
The GDCI facilitates the exchange of ideas that help a variety of stakeholders shape streets to promote public health and safety, quality of life, multi-modal mobility, economic development, environmental sustainability and equity. GDCI believes that by working together, cities can save time and money, share lessons learned, scale up best practice implementation and more effectively achieve their policy goals and objectives.
Social Ink worked closely with the Global Designing Cities Initiative to quickly deploy their new home on the web. GDCI’s site serves as resource for seeking industry best practices in civic design and as an introduction to the organization’s comprehensive reference publication, the Global Street Design Guide.
Key features of the new web platform include an interactive map with embedded multimedia, and mobile responsive design that adapts this content for screens of various sizes. The site is powered by the open-source, user friendly WordPress CMS, providing a customized backend experience for no-code site administration and growth.
With the design and development of Global Designing Cities Initiative’s new web platform, Social Ink continues work on websites for nonprofits!
